Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but it was not a good Sunday for the NFL betting public. The four biggest favorites — 49ers, Raiders, Browns, Bucs — all were favored by at least 5.5 points … and all lost outright. Incredibly, that means that underdogs of 5.5 or more points this season are 13-2 ATS with nine outright victories.

As John Murray, executive director at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook texted after Sunday Night Football, “Very solid day. A lot of upsets the last two weeks. Been good for the books.”

The one bright spot for the betting public was the Kansas City Chiefs (-3) hanging on to win (and cover) 22-17 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. Over 80% of the bets and money at multiple sportsbooks was on Kansas City to cover. One bettor had a little more invested, placing a $1 million wager at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on the Chiefs ML -175. He ended up winning a cool $571,428.57 last night, although he must’ve been sweating for the entire fourth quarter.

Tonight, the Buffalo Bills (-5.5) host the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5) host the Washington Commanders in a Monday Night Football doubleheader. The public is all over both favorites to cover.

Here’s some more information from Joe Brennan, the executive chairman at Prime Sports:

“We’re right now small fans of the favorites for tonight’s MNF at Prime, but so far not a lot of daylight money wise between the favs and the dogs.

“A little more interest from the sharps on the JAX v BUF game than on WAS v CIN. They defiantly bet the line down on the Bills (-4.5) from -6, but there was some opposition along the way.

“There’s a little less movement in the Commanders/ Bengals (-7) game from the sharps, by comparison, with a line relatively close to where it opened. The total in that game went down a couple points (now 46.5), again with some decent two-way on its way down, with more interest from the sharps there than on the side.”

Hopefully, you enjoyed the wealth of picks and information from Sunday’s post and made some money on a tough Week 3 NFL Sunday. As usual, I’ve compiled public betting info and bunch of expert picks below the pay wall for tonight’s game, along with a few props. I’ll add to the file as we approach kickoff.

Have a great Monday!
