Oddsmaker insights and public betting info for Knicks-Pacers, Wolves-Nuggets
Where the public is betting and quotes from oddsmakers on Monday's two NBA playoff games
Monday night begins the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs in earnest with two terrific matchups.
In the first, Madison Square Garden will be rocking as the New York Knicks are in Round 2 of the postseason for only the second time since 2014 (they lost in six games to the Heat last year), going up against an upstart Indiana Pacers team that hadn’t won a playoff series in a decade before dispatching the Milwaukee Bucks in six games. The Knicks are sizeable (-245) series favorites.
In the second game, the Minnesota Timberwolves surprisingly lead the Denver Nuggets 1-0 in the series after an upset 106-99 win on Saturday night. Anthony Edwards (43 points) put on an incredible performance to lead Minnesota to a Game 1 win. The Wolves are now the slight favorites (-120) to win the series at DraftKings.
Here are some insights from oddsmakers on Monday’s two NBA Playoff games, along with public betting splits from four sportsbooks and a few best bets from handicappers. I’ll update this file throughout the day as I get more information.

“I could have predicted this one before the series started. Lopsided Knicks money on the money line. The spread is a little more balanced, but it's still more Knicks money. The total has been pretty stagnant. There was an early move from 216.5 to 217.5 but we've pretty much stayed there since. Money here is on the over.” — Hal Egeland, BetMGM NBA trader
“A lot of public New York money that comes in here, mostly Knicks money. Knicks are probably tied into 80% of our parlays here. Total has jumped 215.5 to 217.5, we do have a little bit of liability on the Over at 216 and 216.5.” — Thomas Gable, sportsbook director at The Borgata in Atlantic City
