Best Major League Baseball bets for Thursday
Public betting info, plus best bets via THE BAT X projection system
In case you missed it earlier, my first Substack piece for today was an interview with Jesse Hynes, the 35-year-old lawyer who wagered $250 on Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold to win NFL MVP at 300-1 odds. Hynes also placed a $250 on wager on Darnold to win AP Offensive Player of the Year at 400-1 odds.
Why did he make those long-shot bets?
I’ll leave it to Hynes to explain his reasoning, but I always find it fun to talk to bettors about their process for making wagers, especially self-described casual bettors like Hynes.

As for baseball, my Substack now features a daily piece from Derek Carty from THE BAT X. They have a terrific and respected projection model, which provides a ton of great info for bettors to consider before making daily MLB bets. They’ll also recommend a few wagers every day exclusively for my subscribers. Be sure to check out all of their content here.
I’ve attached the public betting info from DraftKings Sportsbook on today’s baseball games as well.
Enjoy!
