Best bets for Suns-Wolves, Pacers-Bucks and Mavs-Clippers
Where the public is betting and quotes from oddsmakers on Tuesday's NBA playoff games
It was an incredible Monday night of NBA Playoff basketball, which saw the New York Knicks (-5.5) somehow win a game in which they were down five points with under 30 seconds left and the Denver Nuggets (-7.5) come back from down 20 points to beat the Los Angeles Lakers for the 10th (!) straight time on a Jamal Murray buzzer-beater.
It also improved the home teams’ record in this year’s NBA Playoffs to a perfect 11-0 (8-3 against the spread). Unders have been cashing so far as well, going 9-2.
“We’ve seen big, six-figure action early in these NBA Playoffs,” Lamarr Mitchell, director of trading at MGM, told me. “Mixed results so far for the players, but the playoffs definitely bring out the big players.”
Tonight, we have three more playoff games in the association, and the biggest spread among them is Timberwolves -3 (vs. Suns). Wolves -3 is the most-bet side by total bets and dollars wagered at DraftKings Sportsbook.
“Early money on the Mavs, but taking Clippers money today,” Thomas Gable, sportsbook director at The Borgata in New Jersey told me via text. “Pacers-Bucks is the least-bet of the three games today. We took Suns money at +3.5 and +3, now at Suns +2.5.”
Here are some more insights from oddsmakers on Tuesday’s NBA games, along with public betting splits from several sportsbooks and a few best bets from handicappers. I’ll update this throughout the day as I get more information.

“Relatively even split on the T’Wolves-Suns, with slightly more money coming on on the T’Wolves. We’ve moved back and forth between 211.5 and 212.5 on the total. Money is coming in on the over at 211.5 and the under at 212.5. Bettors telling us 212 is the appropriate number.” — Halvor Egeland, BetMGM NBA trader
