Best bets for Cavs-Celtics, Mavs-Thunder
Where the public is betting and quotes from oddsmakers on Tuesday's two NBA playoff games
I’m not sure any Minnesota Timberwolves fans — even a die-hard one like myself — expected that performance last night. With Rudy Gobert back in Minnesota after his partner gave birth to their first child, the T’Wolves (+7.5) dominated the Denver Nuggets from the second quarter on and won going away 106-80. They now lead the defending champs 2-0 as the series shifts back to Minnesota.
In tonight’s action, we see the other two second-round series begin, with the Boston Celtics as massive -1600 series favorites (and 12-point favorites in Game 1) against the Cleveland Cavaliers. As you’ll see from the public betting data below, public bettors are having no issue laying double-digits with the Celtics.
In the West, the Dallas Mavericks visit the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder, with OKC a surprisingly short -125 favorite for the series and 3.5-point Game 1 fave. Public betting is a little more mixed on that game, but seems to be favoring the Thunder with the points.
Here are some insights from oddsmakers on Tuesday’s two NBA Playoff games, along with public betting splits from several sportsbooks and a few best bets from handicappers. I’ll update this throughout the day as I get more information.
